What is a virtual hairstyle? You could call it an online hairstyle consultation where you can try on different hair styles and hair colors in a virtual hair styler. Rather than looking at hairstyle pictures and trying to imagine how you would look like with a new hair color or new hair style, you can try on new hair styles and hair colors using a virtual hair
styler.

Your Photo

You will need to make sure that the picture(s) you upload into your account is a good picture of your. When you try on different hairstyles and hair colors you will want to look your best.

Here are a few tips for portrait photography:

If you have your picture taken by a friend – the camera should be about 10 feet away and then zoom in for the head shot. Leave space above the head to for the virtual hair style.

If you take your own picture, use a tripod and set the self-timer on the camera. Place the camera at least 10 feet away from you.

You will get a better picture with a Digital Camera than with a Web Cam
- Pull your hair back (long hair) or comb it back out of your face
- Sit up straight
- Look directly into the camera lens and slightly drop your chin.
- Take a headshot. (straight on shot), up to the middle of your
shoulders, facing straight at the camera.
- You can set the ‘white balance’ of the camera on automatic which will give your skin tone a natural look.
- Have the light behind the camera. You can also use flash
- Before you take the next picture look at the picture you just took so you can adjust the next picture.
- Take as many pictures as possible
- Use Photoshop to hide flaws such as dark circles under your eyes

Download your photo from your digital camera onto your computer. Choose the best picture of yourself. It needs to be saved in .jpg format. Click on Browse in the The HairStyler and navigate to your picture on your computer. Then you can upload your photo into your account.
